TESTIMONIALS

“We were delighted to find LaFond Piano Studio when I was starting my daughter in piano. Before I found Rachel, I thought I wanted to stick with a specific style. Rachel doesn’t teach the style I desired, but offered such an in depth and enlightening explanation of why, that I was instantly convinced she was the one. We weren’t disappointed. Her reward systems are fun and motivating for kids, and she is consistent with her expectations. Rachel always amazes me with her positive attitude and patience. Her personality is perfectly suited for teaching piano at all levels.”

-Allison DeLeone, Parent from Monroe, WA

“We are so glad Rachel is our son’s piano teacher. She is young and enthusiastic about what she does, and it really shows in her lessons.  Our son started taking lessons in January from her when she taught at her Monroe studio.  She is now in Seattle and we drive there for his lessons 40 minutes each way, that is how wonderful Rachel is.  If you have a student young or old, Rachel may just be the perfect teacher for them!”

-Christine Seek, Parent from Monroe, WA

“Rachel has been an excellent instructor for my daughter. Rachel’s rigorous method teaches her both how to play and the theory behind what she’s playing. Rachel’s program has helped my daughter grow tremendously in discipline as she learns the art & benefits of practicing. She also gives her students numerous experiences of performing in front of an audience throughout the year, where we can celebrate progress with other families and students. Our whole family is grateful to have Rachel as part of our lives.”
-Kathy Seamands, Parent from Monroe, WA

“My eight year old twin sons started one year ago, and their progress is amazing. When they started, I was expecting them to play only for their entertainment, but  they really into her lessons and follow her with diligence.  Rachel is passionate in teaching her students. My sons learned not only music, but their effort brings helped build confidence while having fun. Now, piano is big part of their life. We really appreciate her guiding us into a new world,”

-Hiroko Kuyper, Parent from Lake Stevens, WA

“My son is a rambunctious 5 year old boy, and Rachel has him reading music, memorizing songs for recitals, and enjoying practice and lessons. He is becoming more confident and focused every week. Most importantly to me, he is loving playing music. Rachel is the real deal. She knows how to challenge her students to work up to their potential, and has the experience, patience, and love for kids to back them up. My son loves her.”

-Shannon Cumming, Parent from Seattle, WA

“I transferred to Rachel after 5 years of studying piano, and am extremely happy with all of the new things that she has taught me.  She uses descriptive analogies to help me picture how a piece of music can sound, always has ideas to help me play better, and challenges me to grow as a musician and as a lover of music.”

-Megan Fery, 17-year old student from Woodinville, WA

“My son is 6 years old. He loves piano and has learned so much in such a short time! From the auditions, crazy hat recital, formal recital, and recently the super fun Fistful of Dollars class lesson, I know we picked the right teacher for our son. Rachel sets attainable yet challenging goals and I couldn’t be happier with the results.  Thanks to Rachel, he is reading piano sheet music and memorizing two page songs! We are very proud of our son, and very happy with LaFond Piano Studio.”

-Ashleigh Kenison, Parent from Marysville, WA

“I love Rachel’s teaching style in that she doesn’t just repeatedly go through lesson after lesson with her own teaching format.  Rather she tries to focus on  my weaknesses and areas where I need most help. She tries to find techniques that work for me to overcome those difficult barriers that hinder me from singing my capacity and to help me discover my potential.  I can say that I have made breakthrough improvements with just a few lessons with her and I have no doubt that I will continue to improve with her help.”

-Grace Kim, Adult Student from Tacoma, WA
